Aussie Rules

Did you know there was a sport that some people don’t know? It’s a fun game that you can play. We have been learning the skills required to play Aussie rules every Wednesday.

We have to use our feet and hands, and it is essential to play with the ball. The ball is small and like a football but with out the pointy ends.

The skills we learnt was drop punt, pass, chest catch, bounce and mark.

Badminton

On Thursday we had badminton. When we got in we saw three little nets and one big net. We were going to have a challenge. it was two vs two.

We had to use our forehand because we were on the forehand net. I served the shuttle and we started to play. It was quite easy to play the game because I always look at the shuttle. When we finished our first challenge, we went on the next net, that’s when we had to use our backhand.

We started the game. After that we all went to take a turn on the big net, that’s when we could use our backhand and forehand and it was three vs three. I served the shuttle and we played.

After that we took a real challenge, it was only one vs one. We had to hit the shuttle twice. I served the shuttle then we played followed by cheerfully going back to class with a happy face.

Swimming

At the pools my class and room 17 had to practise swimming because we were beginners, it is pretty cool. Our teacher for swimming was Miss Garden. We started on Monday 9th of May. We went to swim in the middle pool. We swam not that far from the shallow end, then we went to the deep end to see who could make it to the middle line. After that, we went back to the shallow end to dive into the pool. Miss Garden told us to go change out of our togs.
