Why swimming is important

Swimming is a life saving skill as it is a talent. Swimming is an athletic sport, which means you can get fitter. Not knowing the knowledge of swimming isn’t a very wise choice to pick. Swimming is big fear
which can be conquered by practicing in deep pool.

If you don’t know how to swim, and once you can’t feel the ground when you want to take a break, your percentage of live will be 100% down to 50%. Good technique can also be needed before jumping in the ocean or a pool. And last but not least, help and show someone how to swim
so fewer people will have a chance to live

The power of the guitar

Guitars are life as it is a talent. The classical guitar originates from place to place and was developed from a lute since the medieval ages. Modern guitars are very common and is used to play music.

Part of a guitar:

There are a lot of parts to the guitar that makes it sound better. tuning keys would be the most HATEFUL part to the guitar. It gets really ANNOYING when ever people untune my guitar strings. But then again, tuning keys are simply made for tuning the strings to the right sound.

The neck of the guitar holds lines of frets which helps you form guitar chords. The body of an acoustic guitar is the part that keeps the guitar
together. The inside of an acoustic guitar is what amplifies the sound which comes out of the sound hole.

How is sound created from a guitar?

The guitars sound depends on what material the guitar is made of, or what brand its from. I would gladly recommend a brand called Fender, Fender would be one of the best brands, if not then its still a good brand to use when you're performing a gig.

How to play a guitar:

Playing is real simple. Your right hand will be used for strumming the strings and your left hand is used for positioning your fingers to form a guitar chord. Unless you are left handed, a left handed guitar would be suitable for your comfort and will be easier playing a song.

Hearing science experiment

Science experiment:

Question: What will happen to the sound if I change the shape of a piece of paper? (e.g. from a flat shape to a funnel shape)

Links to research about Sound:

Hypothesis: (What do you think will happen?) e.g. I think that….

Materials needed: paper and tape

Experiment (procedure):

e.g. Step 1 - First hold a flat piece of paper against your ear. Block your other ear with your hand. Get your partner to speak to you. What is the sound like? Can you hear clearly?

Step 2 - Next, roll the piece of paper into a funnel shape. Put the funnel against your ear. Face the funnel towards your partner and listen to them speak. What does it sound like? Can you hear clearly?

Step 3 - Next, face the funnel to the side while your partner speaks to you. Does it make a difference to the sound that you can hear?

Step 4 - Put some cotton balls or tissue paper into the funnel to block one end. Does it make a difference to the sound you hear?

Step 5 - Next, roll the pie

Data (What happened?)

Shape/object/materials
Results:
1
flat piece of paper
Works only a little
2
funnel facing to the front
The quality is much better
3
funnel facing to the side
it is harder to hear
4
cotton ball or tissue  blocking the narrow end of the funnel
can not hear very clearly
5
rolled up piece of paper (facing to the front)
It makes a difference and is a bit affective
6
rolled up piece of paper (facing to the side)
Is not a good quality but can still hear

Observations:
1) When I used a flat piece of paper the quality was ok because it was focusing on one area. 2) When I rolled up a piece of paper into a funnel  shape facing the front and my partner spoke, it made a big difference. 3) When the funnel was facing the the side, it wasn't very effective as the funnel facing the front. 4) When I put a tissue in the narrow end of the funnel, it was kind of hard to hear. 5) When I rolled up a piece of paper, it made a difference but the effects was not better then the funnel shape. 6) When I used the rolled up piece of paper (facing the side), it wasn’t a good quality but I could still hear.

Conclusion:

Using a funnel shaped piece of paper or any kind of funnel shaped object is very useful for hearing. It can also be used for amplifying your voice for a big crowd or call for someone a few metres away

Music

What is Music?

Music is one of the most delicate things in life. It can help you with most things you could think of. Music has a way of going deep inside your emotions. In todays world, we sometimes use technology to make music.

Types of music.

Every type of music has developed from scratch since the medieval ages to this day. For example, late 19th century - 20th century. Blues, originated from the Southern United States by the African American folks in the late 19th century. Dubstep, emerged from the late 1990  and originates from the United Kingdom.

The impact from music.

It is always good to listen to music. It sets the mood for you to relax, but don’t push yourself to the limit of the volume or Your inner ear will be damaged and your ability to hear will be disabled. But on the other hand, music is the best thing you can listen to when you're feeling down

Instruments.

You have to love instruments, a place without instruments is not negotiable for anyone in this world. Learning how to play instruments will help you with your thinking ability and your smarts. Main instruments like the guitar, piano, and the violin is what I would recommend for beginners.

Music is very important, important as life, and if you already know the knowledge of music and you already know how to play a musical instrument, keep practising till the end

What can I hear?

A world without sound or not being able to hear would be unbearable for anyone in this universe. If you can not hear what is around you, it could lead you to danger or even death. A critical hit to an organ from a car would be fatal, or the person behind the wheel wouldn't probably have heard anyone calling to stop.

Having no sound is more likely for someone who is deaf, but if everyone was in the condition of being completely deaf it could be dangerous.

For example if there was a news report saying there was a mental murderer on the loose close to your location, theres no escape
and there will be no hope for you.

If you were me, you would love listening to music and love listening and watching to comedy on youtube, if only you could hear. With ears
you could hear birds chirping and dogs barking from across the street.

sound is very important, it could be used for anything you desire.

Immersion Assembly 2014

School starts at a fine day. The holidays are over, and now starts a new beginning . As we stomp down the hall, upon the stage was the topic. “Sound” is the topic we will be following this year.

Like always, we would start the first day of school with an Immersion assembly. Its all about sound, physics, and science.
We are all focusing on different  topics.

Here are some favorite highlights. Team 1 are all taking a trip to the zoo on Tuesday the 6th of may 2014 which is tomorrow. Team 2 Are talking all about flight, airplanes, thrust, drag, and gravity. And the best would be team 5, with their performance of  sound and music using odd instruments.

A special thanks to all the teachers for performed examples of the topic for this term
