What is echolocation?

What is echolocation? Echolocation is something animals can use to see in dark places. As a bat, your habitat is mainly caves, so it will be pitch black and hard to locate your prey. Bats use echolocation to locate their prey.

Bats send out sound waves to determine where an object’s location is using it’s mouth or nose. If the sound waves hit an object, it will produce echoes. The echo will bounce off the object and return back to the bat, that is when the bat will strike.  

Of all the blind people in the world, nothing is worse than having your eyes removed. But there is one person in the world who can see without eyes. This boy’s name is Ben Underwood. As he was a 3 year old child, his eyes had to be removed due to eye cancer.

If he didn’t have an operation earlier, the eye cancer would have spread to his brain and will eventually lead to his death. Ben’s mum had a choice. The choices were, to keep Ben’s vision or have his eyes removed. Ben’s mum chose to have the doctor operate on Ben’s eyes.

So then, Ben had to live his life without eyes. But Ben discovered a skill called echolocation. Ben Underwood uses sharp clicks using his mouth to see. The sharp clicks bounces off objects and returns back to him.

With this skill, he doesn't need eyes to see, he can use echolocation.

Ben Underwood can move through gaps, hear cars from a far distance,

play basket ball, and can ride a bike without a problem. This unique ability has helped Ben Underwood through the toughest times but he could have had a better life with eyes.

Top guard dogs

`What is a guard dogs?

A guard dog (also known as attack dog or watch dog) are dogs used to guard against intruders of all kinds. They are very watchful and They all oftenly bark very loud to alarm their owners of an intruder’s presents then they will scare them away.

American Akita:

Is a large spitz breed of dogs that originates from the northern mountains of japan. There are two types of the Akita, A Japanese strain: Japanese Akita also known as the Akita Inu, and an American strain: Akita or American Akita.

Rottweiler:

A rottweiler is a large breed of dogs. These dogs were also known as Rottweil butchers, And the germans call them Rottweil Metzgerhund.

Although this breed was used for many purposes in recent times, Rottweilers are one of the oldest of herding breeds.

German shepherd:

The German Shepherd (formerly known as Alsatian and Alsatian wolf dog) are breeds that originates from germany. German shepherds are

a recent breed of dogs, their birth datings is the 1899. German shepherds have developed since that time period to police dogs.

All these dogs are very territorial and dangerous, always keep your distance from their territorial.

   

Asian anime hair tutorial

Most asians have awesome and sometimes weird looking hair styles. But I like to keep things spiked and smoothed. To do this, you’ll need tools, most tools are for girls, and those are the tools you're going to need.

The tools you're going to need is a clamp brush. A clamp brush is two brushes together, it thins your hair when you straighten your hair. They can be located in hair salons or chemist if you're lucky.

If there is none located in your area, you can just use a comp or a normal brush.

You will also need a straightener. this hair tool is pretty easy to find. There location can be found at a hair salon or most warehouses. It simply makes your hair straight. And the last tool is a blow dryer, used for drying your hair after wetting your hair. (optional) You can also use heat protection spray for less hair damage.

  First things first, wet your hair then dry it with a towel. (optional) Then apply heat protection. Then use a blow dryer to dry your hair. Then straighten your hair with

a straightener, be careful not to burn your self. You will know if you’ve finished straightening. The back area of your hair should be standing up after it has been straightened. And now apply some heavy wax for a spiked look. And now finish it off with some hair spray.

Tech at Tamaki

Tech at Tamaki is a place for you to learn a variety of things, mostly food technology, hard material technology, and graphic technology. Your expectations should just be all about technology.

Food Tech:

Food tech is mainly all about cooking. It’s a place to learn all the basics about cooking, and you can also produce delicious food which you can eat later.

Hard Materials:

Hard materials, hard materials is about design, make and produce. It takes technique to make a perfect piece of work but you will develop new skills on the way. Making something in hard materials will include solid hard things such as metal or glass.

Graphics:

And finally, Graphics, a place in the college where you can create neat pieces of art. You will be amazed on what experience you’ve gained on the way. You are going to be designing things you have yet to learn. It is all simply about drawing.

As you can see now, once you’ve moved on to college, things will be a little bit easier for you. Do not hesitate to take an opportunity

to move on to be a student in university.

Smart footprint

What is a smart footprint? A smart footprint is something you’d leave behind. It could be an email you’ve sent or deleted, or a doc thats been published or erased. Either way, you could have a smart footprint, an ugly footprint, or a mean footprint.

Always remember, you never know when someones watching. Think positive and never send anything life threatening or else things could get ugly Unless its not digital.

A teacher or parent can see things you have trashed and deleted, bad things that you’ve trashed will be seen from anyone and can cause a lot of bad things.

Say something nice, be cyber smart, think smart, be clever and never send bad things. Always leave a smart footprint

Homemade instruments

Explanation of Homemade Instrument

DRUM

Materials Needed:

Milk powder tin

2 milk powder tin lids ( that match)

coloured paper (decoration)

counters

Tools

scissors

sellotape  

Instructions for Homemade Instrument:

1. [First Instruction]....

1. keep one of the baby milk powder tin lids on the top

2. put some counters(at least 3-5)  on the bottom of the tin and cover the bottom using the other lid

3. Now cover the outside of the baby milk powder tin with some plain paper (to draw on) or coloured paper

4. use objects like two pencils or the bottom of two paint brushes

Explanation of how sound is created: Sound is created by air molecules that travels through air. This simply means (without air there is no sound)

Introduction:

I’m going to explain how my milk powder tin drum instrument works.

Main reason: There are all sorts of drums made from organic material or things often found in houses. My drum is made out of a baby milk powder tin. The reason why I chose this tin can is because of the metal it possesses.

Answering ‘how’...

All you need to use for the drum is objects like pencils or the bottom of brushes to support the sound without using bare hands.

Second reason:

There is a reason why I used two tin lids, its for both top and bottom. The top of the tin has a lid but the bottom doesn't. The bottom is blocked by metal, if I didn't put a lid on the bottom then it would sound like ordinary metal.

Third reason: I put counters on the bottom and covered it with the other lid so that the drum could make a snare sound like a real drum.

Now you see how my drum works, by combining all the materials needed to make a drum, and the sound balances well, now all I need is a band.
