Dear JK and Ms V

A big thanks goes to our adults for Ruakaka B, J.K (Tyla Marie's father)

and Miss V (Daisy) for their commitment in helping us through hard obstacles and activities. Thank you JK! You have been a big help in every way and everything.   

Year 8 camp wouldn't have happened if you adults hadn’t come along. Because of you, camp was successful, most of the activities were organized by the adults. If the adults weren’t with us (like you two) then who knows where we would be.

Athletics - Term 4 2014

Athletics, a time of sport and a day of fun always happens yearly. Usually its unlikely it would rain on athletics day. If it does the chart will be changed. On that day, the exact opposite of a good day happened.

It rained right before athletics started. The grass was extremely wet and slippery. For a time, people started to think athletics was going to be postponed to another day.

Mr Burt decided to do half of athletics and set the rest till another day.

It wasn’t as fun as a normal athletic day considering how wet and muddy the grass.

Surprisingly enough, the grass cleared up of its wetness. It was still a bit damp but wasn’t really slippery anymore. Javelin, shot put, sprinting,

high jump, and discus were the subjects. Javelin was one of my most favourite subjects of athletics.  

Athletics term 4 2014 was an okay day, the day just needed more sun and less wetness then the day would be just a fine day

2014 year 8 camp highlights

All the yearly camps that students at Pt England School have had, were a blast. Maybe some weren't as exciting as actually being sent to other places, meaning the camps that were held in the school itself were less exciting.

On the other hand, the Year 8 camp we recently had was at a scale of above average (80% - great!).

Marsden Bay Christian Camp was a beautiful site overlooking a farm.

The camp had a variety of activities, meaning the manager must have been busy organizing the camp from the start of the year.

We were already heavily excited from the first sightings of the activities. When we first arrived, just getting out of the bus, some of us went straight to the volleyball area.

But volleyball was just the start of the fun. All the activities included kayaking, archery, cooking, and swimming at the pools at Waiwera. My most favourite highlight would have to be the campfire. We all sang many songs during the camp fire.

We stayed for a minimum of four days at the camp. These few days will be a memory that will last for a lifetime. Needless to say, our parents would be dying to know the highlights of our final camp.

Why school rules are improtant

If anything were to be banned from the school, It should never be school or class rules. Like jobs or business building, They would have

rules Either inside or out.

All rules may start when you’ve just arrived to school. Some schools might not have the same rules, but rules are rules. Changing the rules might lead to destruction, not only to the people, but to the school.

Without school rules, the kind of things that will happen won't be the kind of thing you’d want at home. No rules would mean, graffiti on the walls and students smoking.

If the rules weren’t going to change, then the best advice would be to move to another school or try and convince the principal to make rules.

Right now, the rules we have now are very helpful, the rules should be able to keep thieves off the school property, graffiti will not be likely to happen, and There won’t be any drugs around

Immersion 2014 - Term 4

As weeks of school holiday pass by, the time for learning have come once again. Good bye school Holidays, Hello again Pt England school.

As terms change, topics do so as well.

“Art attack” Mr Burt shouted. It looks like our school is going to have a good term considering this whole term will be all about art.

Team 1 held the first item showed an interesting performance. What they have performed might be a bit hard to understand but was something good to watch.

Team 1 performed and reenacted having a good time at places like the Beach, River and Picnic. The team 1 item was nothing compared to the item team 5.

Team 5 performed by painting 3 portraits of Mrs Jarman, Mr Jacobson, and Mr Burt. Their amazing art work was magnificent and hardly fake. Apparently, the painting was traced. Other than that, the Immersion assembly was great as always.

Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan, is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter who originates fro
m Texas, USA. Of all the guitar gods and guitar professionals, Stevie Ray Vaughan is the 8th best guitarist of all time.

Stevie Ray Vaughan’s specialty of the guitar are Texas blues, blues rock, and electric blues. As you can see, Stevie is a blues man. Stevie Ray Vaughan also has an older brother named Jimmie Lawrence Vaughan.

Jimmie Lawrence Vaughan also can play the guitar, but can not match the skill of his younger brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie was raised in Dallas and began playing the guitar at the age of seven. Stevie Ray Vaughan was inspired by his older brother Jimmie Lawrence Vaughan shockingly, considering Stevie is now better than Jimmie, his own brother.

Stevie Ray Vaughan grew bigger and started performing with Double Trouble (Band). Stevie Ray Vaughan died a tragic death, caused by a helicopter crash in 1990. Stevie Ray Vaughan’s life may have ended, but his music will not end thanks to the work of Double Trouble.
