Tamaki College sports

Tamaki College, a place located beyond Glen Innes, or just down the road from Point England School. Tamaki college has all kinds of interesting cultures but mostly Maori and Polynesian. Some faces would appear familiar to others. That is because some students from Tamaki college came from  Point England school.

We go to Tamaki College because it gives the older students experience with younger students for their sports activities. We come down so were not stuck in the class all day. The tutors are Year 12 students that attend Tamaki College. They are teaching us P.E. skills. They learn about leadership skills for N.C.E.A.

P.E. helps to us get fitter and it helps to train our muscles. It helps for long term health or even become interested in sports or social activities.

Our experience with sports at Tamaki College is fun and can sometimes be exciting. It includes different activities like electric fence, blindfolded course (things like jumping on to things).

Cyclone Lusi

1. What is a cyclone? Cyclones are a dangerous kind of storm which should be avoided. Clouds darken, rough winds, heavy rain and all the things that will turn your day to a disaster. It can cause severe damage to buildings, no where is safe if you get caught in the cyclone . This cyclone was named Lusi, every cyclone has a name.

2. What would happen during a cyclone? Houses flying high towards the center of the cyclone is the most brutal part that you would ever hit. Things will collapse together and it will get messy after the storm has past. All that was once your house will now turn into over NINE THOUSAND!!! pieces.

3. During the weekend the weather was extreme. Trees were falling and there was heaps of flying objects. There was severe winds hitting the shore of the beaches. We got advised to stay in doors and keep all light objects indoors. There was serious rain pouring down. It wasn't as severe as I thought it was going to be.

4. To prepare you’ll need to bring all objects inside and you should also store food and water. You’ll also need to bring pets indoors to keep them safe and dry. You should paper candle or a torch in case to power line goes down. You can also store a wireless radio and some bottles of water. Watch out for any flying objects and stay indoors at all times.

What is empathy?

What is empathy? Empathy would mean feelings and emotion. It means understanding someones emotions or feelings. For example, if someone died or if you lost something like a teddy bear, and someone understands what you’re going through, that means he has experienced your emotion. That is empathy.

Another way of explaining empathy is “happiness”. For example, if I got a puppy, I would be happy and so would someone like a friend which also means empathy because he has experienced your happiness. Empathy  means a lot of things like caring for one another.

picasion.com 1ZuTc
picasion.com 1ZuTc

This year term 4 we have been doing swimming at GI pools to learn how to swim. We have been chosen in groups. There is pool 1, 2 and 3. Some of us have help from swimming instructors because some of us aren’t  good at swimming this is pool 2 but others have their teaches to help them in the big pool this pool 3.

We have about two weeks of swimming lessons to do before the end of the year the big pool is half the size of a rugby field and the middle pools is quarter the size of a rugby field. The people that have an instructor go to the middle pool and the big pool have the their teacher, so as pool 1. In the end we learned new skills that helped us a lot.

The Whisper

Jason heard a little whisper from a distance from his bed “Come here to me” the whisper was frightening him “come closer to me” the whisper came closer and closer as well as Jason came closer to it “yes, come closer” but then the whispering stop then quietly fell back to sleep.

“Wake up Jason Foster time to get up for school”. Jason got ready for school but was still sluggish from last night. As riding on the bus he heard it again “there it is again” worried Jason. Jason walk past the library then PUSH, Jake pushed Jason to the ground “leave me alone Jake” Jason said “you can’t tell me what to do because you are a little wimp” Jake insulted “JUST LEAVE ME ALONE” Jason shouted, he felt posed when he said that.

“Who shouted outside my door” said principal John “he did” Jake pointed to Jason “Jason get in to my office” yelled Principal John. As Jason sat with John, Jason heard the whisper again but this time It said “come back home I need your help” the whisper whispered “I’m sorry Mr John but I am not Feeling well today” Jason lied.

When Jason got into his house, Jason Heard the whisper and tried to followed it “come this way you are nearly there” the whisper whispered. As he went outside, there was no wind but it was cloudy. The Whisper lead Jason into the underground basement WHESESSHESH The basement winds were howling “at last you are here” It was windy inside but not outside “oh this is weird” Jason said to himself.

He looked under the washing and saw mystical book with dust on it “WWHHHH” Jason picked up it up and blew the dust off the book “the book of whispers”. To Be Continued

My first day of school

WSHHSHHSHS!!!, Rushing through the house here, there and everywhere I was trying to get ready for my first day at a school, I was so excited and anxious that I skipped breakfast. “Slow down Neo!!” shouted Mum,
“Hold on just need to brush my teeth the wash my face” I said, “Ok Im ready Mum”I replied  “Ok lets go, Oh wait wheres the keys!!!” Mum yelled, “Its in your bag” I said “Oh Then lets go” Mum replied.

Bump Bump Bump! Down the rocky road we went. “Here we are, St Pius school” said Mum. “Mum I don't think I'm ready yet” I told Mum, “don't be silly” replied Mum. I hopped out of the car door so nervously that I shook like a frozen little boy.

As I was getting closer to my classroom I felt more nervous, my hands were sweating, my heart was pumping faster than ever, I hid behind my Mum not looking at the other people but I held the nervous. My Mum grabbed My hand and showed me to my first classroom. “This is neo” Mum called out to the class, When she said I felt numb but the class said, “Hello Neo”.

I was still shaking, the was smiling at me then I started smiling, It seemed like I wasn’t afraid after all. After a while I started fitting in to the school. I started making friends but until I moved to Pt england, but at least I made new friends.

The Rainbow Warrior

In 1985 July the 10th just before midnight, 2 suspicious people were lurking around Mechanics Bay by the harbour bridge. They launched their zodiac into the water and motored to Marsden Wharf where the Rainbow Warrior was. The two men that were lurking were actually french spies working for the french government but there were more of them. There were 11 spies hiding, some were pretending to be on a honeymoon and some were tourist
Without a warning, the 2 men jump out of their zodiac and swam down in scuba diving suits underwater to the Rainbow Warrior Boat. They were suspiciously up to no good, they swam swiftly under the boat and started planting 2 limpet bombs on the Rainbow warrior. One on the engine and the other on the propellor.

Meanwhile, everybody on board was oblivious to what was going down below but continued on with celebrating their director, Steve Sawyer’s birthday. After a while, people started leaving the Rainbow Warrior and there were only about five or six people left on the boat.
They were just talking and had a few drinks but still didn’t know what was going on underwater. One quiet moment, ‘KABOOOM’. The first bomb went off. It set a person off his chair. They had thought another boat had hit them. ‘KABOOOM’. Goes the other bomb. “ABANDON SHIP ABANDON SHIP!!!!”, The captain shouted. Unfortunately, A photographer named Fernando Pereira did not survive and the 2 spies escape.

Greenpeace were protesting against the french government for nuclear bombing and radiation poisoning. They were planning to head down to mururoa atoll, but the French Government thought that if they blew up the Rainbow Warrior ship the Greenpeace would stop protesting them

My Son Is Naughty

Be Neo maths

Neo maths from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.
Jack and Ray were at the rugby. Ray’s team was winning
so Jack decided to give Ray a problem to deflate his ego a
bit. So Jack said “Did you know that today is my three
sons’ birthday?” “How old are they?” Ray asked taking
the bite. “I’ll give you a hint. The product of their ages is
36 and the sum of their ages is 13,” Jack replied. “That’s
no help,” said Ray. So Jack weakened and gave him
another clue. “O.K. My youngest son is very naughty.”
“Nothing to it,” exclaimed Ray and he told Jack the
correct ages of his sons.

Pizza and Chicken

Untitled from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.

The Pizza Place in my town has three
tables of the same size. The Chicken
N Chips restaurant has four of the
same sort of table.
The Chicken N Chips can just seat 24
people. How many people can The
Pizza Place seat?
Now a third of the seats at The Chicken N Chips were
empty and a half of the places at The Pizza Place were
empty. If 18 more people wanted to eat out, how many
would have to be turned away from the two restaurants?
